Service information and document safeguards

Document processing

  1. Choose a PDF. Select the document you want to reduce.
  2. Review. FitPDF identifies the portions of the document that can be reduced safely.
  3. Pick a size limit. 2 MB, 5 MB, 10 MB, 20 MB or any size you type.
  4. Compress and download. FitPDF verifies the completed document before making it available for download.

Preservation controls

FitPDF is designed to preserve the functional and visual elements of a document while reducing its size. Before a completed document is offered for download, FitPDF checks that it remains suitable for ordinary use. If it cannot complete those checks, it will not offer the document as a completed result.

  • Selectable, searchable text and OCR layers
  • Vector graphics, fonts and page structure
  • Links, annotations, form fields and bookmarks

Image assembly

Add photos to an expanding ordered grid, arrange them in the sequence you want, and create one PDF page per photo. You can choose the maximum output size, and the entire conversion remains on your device.

Size-target verification

FitPDF works toward the size you select, whether you are meeting an upload requirement or an email attachment limit. It reports success only when the completed document is within that limit. Where the requested size cannot be reached without an unacceptable reduction in quality, FitPDF reports the best available result instead.

Service terms and common questions

Service information

Is my document uploaded?

No. FitPDF processes documents locally on your device and does not upload them to FitPDF or its advertisers. See the Privacy & Security page.

Which PDFs can it handle?

The free plan supports files up to 100 MB. Supported documents are processed only when FitPDF can do so reliably. Certain protected, signed, or otherwise unsuitable documents may not be eligible for processing.

Will it break a signed PDF?

Altering a digitally signed PDF may invalidate its signature. Review your document's signature requirements before requesting any modification.

Does it cost anything?

The free plan is supported by the ads on this page. Pro ($1/month) removes them and lifts the size limit to whatever your device can handle; Business ($2/month) adds batch runs. See Plans.

Do I need an account to pay?

No FitPDF account is required. After checkout, you receive a licence key that enables your plan. Keep the key in a secure place so you can use it on another device.

How do I cancel?

In your PayPal account, under recurring payments. The plan stays active until the period you have paid for ends.
